What is the PIR Sensor for on my Curv Doorbell?

The PIR sensor is used to detect movement, when the PIR has triggered it will send a message to the mobile phone and save the video onto the SD card for future reference.

The recording duration can be set to 15s, 30s and 45s via the app.
